Cysts

Cysts are slow growing tumors of the skin that are usually benign. They can develop as a result of clogging pores, ingrown hair or foreign bodies. Cysts usually do not cause any pain unless they become infected or ruptured. Treatment options include clinical follow-up of a small in office surgical procedure. It is important to see a dermatologist with any new or growing lesions to confirm a diagnosis.
